I am trying to trace any relartives of ABRAHAM known as ALFRED FOX who arrived from Warwsaw in Poland aged 2 in 1911 with his father PHILIP FOX and mother LEAH FOX and brother HARRY FOX. On arrival their name was actually FOUX OR FOUS, but was interpreted as FOX. The family went to live in the East End of London (one street they lived in was Pattison Street) and ALFRED (my father) attended Raines Foundation School. He then became a policeman during the 2nd World War based at Arbour Square Police Station. There was also another brother born in London, EDWARD FOX. My grandfather PHILIP had family who left Warsaw and went to America and also Paris. My mother ZENA FOX (NEE Finklesteen) was born here, one of 4 sisters, SARA, THERESA AND ANNE. Sara had one son JOHN COWAN,living in Edgware,Midx, Theresa, known as TERRY, one son who lives in Canada, Dennis and ANNE had no children, ZENA, one daughter, me! Is there anyone out there? |
