Could somebody Pleeeease help with this one??
I have a christening from parish records of a
Joanna GAUDEN d of Jno & Mary Parrish.. 24th Jan 1802
(thats how its entered) Kingswinford, Stafford, England
I can then find no further mention... Until 1881 census when
Johanna G Parrish, Head, U, female, 70, Wordsley Stafford. Annuitant. Living Bank cottage, High St, Kingswinford.

(age doesnt correspond with DOC)
If anyone could fill in this huge gap, i would be most grateful

A simple google of her name gave me this.

So it seems she might have had a late Baptism?

I would say you have maybe assumed Joanna was a baby when baptised?

This other site suggests she was 9 years old?

Would that make the dates a little better for you?

yes, she had a sister sarah... who married a samuel Chavasse..
and a brother James, who is my Gxsomething grandfather..

It's hard to tell Julie

Joanna was born in 1793 and not around the time of her baptism as had been assumed.

It's very difficult with records that old to know which ones are correct.

The 1861 census matched the info the KD posted....shame it wasn't acknowledge either way though

My apologies, i thought i had acknowledged it when i confirmed the brother and sister, and told tracey she was a star and changed heading??

I have had time today to double check all the names, all the dates are a little squiffy, but everything else ties in, and i cant find another JG Parrish.
