I'm trying to trace the mother of my GrGtGT grandfather DAVID GRAHAM (born about 1790?). He was the illigitamate son of one of the SISTERS OF THE DUKE OF BACCLEUCH. They gave him a cattle farm & a couple brought him up, but they lost most of it due to foot & mouth.. I don't know which Duke it was (3rd or 4th), or the mothers name. I think this is the right David Graham, who married Margaret Mitchelhill (who was born in Selkirk) on 11/5/1817 in Yarrow. His son is also David Graham was a shepherd(Peebleshire, Scotland), and his grandson James Graham born 1863, was a gamekeeper. Can anyone help?, once I have this link, I can get my family tree back to Mary Queen of Scots. |
