She was born in Foxdale in the Isle of Man, Elizabeth (Eliza)Harvey in 1861 and worked as a nurse and domestic servant according to the 1881 census. She had a sister Ruth five years her junior also born in Foxdale and also a domestic servant according to the 1881 census. She married Edward Mossman Skinner and had children Roadley and Ruth Gladys(my mother). My great grandfather originated from Cornwall, his name being Thomas.
