Trying to find Harvey

Trying to find information on Emily Minnie HARVEY. She was my great-grandmother. Do not know when or where she was born. She gave birth to my grandmother, Betty, in 1916, in Clapham Maternity Hospital (which later changed its name to Annie McCall Hospital). My grandmother was given to a childrens home and later fostered to CHAMBERLAINS in Ottershaw, Surrey. Also know that prior to my grandmothers birth, Emily worked as a domestic servant for a tailor, John BOND, in Dartford, Kent. There is a possibility that she later had a son and also at some point may have married, possibly to become YATES. These details are from bits of conversation overheard by my grandmother when she was a young girl. Also a possible connection with Petlands House in Haywards Heath where Emily may have been employed as a domestic servant. Most likely to be an Emily Minnie Harvey born in South Elmsall in the West Riding of Yorkshire in 1891. Father was JOSEPH HARVEY, mother ALICE (nee TURNER), siblings PERCY, WILLIAM (both born in Kent), then Emily, FANNY, BESSIE and JACQUEMART GOLDSWORTH. The last four children were born in Yorkshire. The father, Joseph, died in 1907 and the family must have moved back to Kent at some time after that as Jacquemart, Percy and William all served in WW1 for regiments based in the South East (mainly Kent and Sussex). There may also have been two further sons, JOSEPH Thomas and ARTHUR Richard. If anyone knows about this particular family I would greatly appreciate any information as I have hit a brick wall with confirming any association of the Yorkshire Emily and the one I am searching for. |
