Hi can anyone check on the 1911 census please for Walter E Hayes? I have found a birth record for a Walter Edward Hayes born in the Isle of Wight Vol 2b Page 1905 born 4th quarter of 1905 and I think he may be my great uncle, if it is him he ended up in Birmingham and married my great aunt in 1928 in Birmingham and then emigrated to Australia at some point. Thanks in advance Suzanne |

Thanks for that, does that mean that Walter was born in IOW or that he was attending school in IOW? Thanks Suzanne |

I have continued looking through the births and have found another Walter Edward Hayes born in Birmingham 4th quarter of 1906, I think this is more likely to be him. Can anyone look on the 1911 census please? Thanks Suzanne |

There does not appear to be a Walter Edward Hayes born 1906 Birmingham on a 1911 census. |

I'm really confused now, I have found Walter Edward Hayes Born Birmingham 4th quarter of 1906 Vol 6d Page 82. I will check to see if there was any deaths on the Birmingham one and then it can be discounted. It's looking more likely that the IOW one is correct, thanks for your help Suzanne |

Hi Colin, I don't have membership to Ancestry but the name Gwillim rings a bell. Can I access it without being a member? |

I would like to thank everyone who responded to my request for help with tracing the Australian branch of my family. In particular I woud like to thank Colin who provided a passenger list and then told me about a very large family tree, with photo's on Ancestry - as a result I am now in touch after 30 years. You are all so brilliant and I am in awe lol. |
