hi am trying to find mother and father of joesph hodges born abt 1845 in devon he married a caroline hopper in 1867 annd died in 1915 can anyone help i think i have found his grandparents but cant confirm this

I take it you have the marriage cert for Joseph to arrive at his age?

no dont have any certs but james is the grandfather i found from a census record but i cant his his married record thanks anyway

Caroline is a widow in the 1911 census so I think your Joseph died before then.

She is living with her daughter Ivy

yep am sure thats right but 1851 record it had joseph down as grandson so i wos not sure who wos his father james looks right just cant find his wife

It's not the same one. The one in 1841 with Sarah is a Saddler.

I think before you go any further you need to verify your findings with some certificates from the beginning of your tree to where you are now. There is no point in going any further if you are following the completely wrong line.

The 1851 with the children at their grandparents has James down as being unmarried.
