Have you bought Susans birth cert? What is Susans mums name and how old was she when she married Henry Jude? Have you found Susan with her mum in 1881? |

You need the marriage cert to be sure we are following the same family. |

ive just checked my tree and charles cann had a younger sister named emma who was 10 yrs younger than him so that would fit with the emma cann on the census |

Hi just a thought, sometimes brother-in-law and step brother get mixed up on censuses. |

hi val, charles would be the head wouldnt he?so if what my dads cousin said about susans family sometimes calling themselves johnson is right, this could make them susans brothers therefore brothers in law of the head of the family ie charles.does that make sense.i think like earlier replies,i too amgoing senile.i go to sleep at night with names and numbers going round in my head, making no sense at all, best wishes |
