I am researching for a friend who grandmother IRENE BROTCHIE married LEONARD KAYE, their daughter born 1926.
I think Irene and Leonard came to CANDAD having both been born in the UK???

That does suggest that Irene was the daughter of Amy.

It seems feasible that Robert and Donald were brothers. They were both Marine Engineers from Middlesbro who moved to Stanton Hartlepool.

On an earlier census Robert is again with mother Mary and he does have a younger brother Donald c1861, perhaps the age of Donald on one of the census is incorrect. (16 rather than 10)

- are old now so I've kind of lost the thread myself, and forget why I started a thread on the Brotchie board to try to help you. But anyhow, I have had a query from someone in relation to that thread, who has tried to contact the friend you were researching on behalf of, through you. She wonders whether you wouldn't just put her in direct contact with your friend.

Might you not just pass on her email address to your friend, who is a close family member of the woman wanting to reach her?

The friend I was researching for just seemed to fall out of my life, no reason, just not hearing from her, perhaps life got in the way for her too.

Evidently that person has been in touch with you numerous times and had nothing back but you saying you and your friend had very busy lives.

Irene was her aunt. She has photographs and information she is eager to share with your friend.

I can understand how you feel, once again I am sorry for the inconvenience I caused you and wish now I had not taken that on for my friend as she just waltzed out the door for me too...even though I told her there was news for her!
