I am trying to find out the parents or siblings of Lewis Donald Cumming Leslie, born 1913, died 03/11/1944. He was a corporal in the Seaforth Highlanders (service number 2818263) . He is buried in the graveyard at Grantown- On-Spey. Also trying to find out any info on Lieut. A.H. Leslie who belongs the Duthil area in Scotland, but looks like he served with the Australian Infantry during WW1. I do know that some of our family emigrated to Australia at some point.

Thanks for you reply. I didn't find those records, they were emailed to me from SPVA Fromelles on trying to find info on someone else. Any chance you can find out Annie's maiden name or siblings of soldier. Any info on other soldier?

You would need to search on Scotlandspeople for the information that you want. It is a pay to view site. Register entries for births after 1910 cannot be viewed online - you would have to buy the certificates.
Scottish birth certificates give the date and place of the parents marriage.
There isn't a Lewis married to an Annie on the 1901 census so looks like they married after that census was taken.

Thanks to all who replied. What does CWGC stand for though? I have a Lewis Leslie and Anne Cumming in my family, could they be the parents of Lewis Donald Cumming Leslie? I will see if I can check 1911 census.

I am not really any use at using the internet and I.m sorry if it shows. thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time to find stuff out for me. What I need to try and do now is see if Alexander Henry Leslie's Family is in any way connected to Lewis Donald Cumming Leslie's family. This could take a while. Does anyone know how to find out a birth , marriage or death of a Scottish person which I have tried in vain thru Scotlands People to find somewhere listed, but without success. Also , when I find stuff on Scotlands People how do I move it, like the census's people have sent to me here. Just as well my son is not here he'd be shouting at me that it is easy. sorry to be a pain.
