Hello to you all, The family name Lundie is thought to have originated from the Strathclyde Britains. This race of the north where a mixture of Gaelic/Celts whose territories ranged from Lancashire in the south, Northward to the south bank of the Clyde.By 1000ad they had started to go their separate ways into the different clans. The first record of the Lundie name was a John Lundy in 1178 who had recieved a grant of Kinbethach. Their have been a few rogues in the Lundie clan, John Lundy had a remission for burning down the town of Dumbarton in 1489, Walter Lundy held Schanvell in 1546 and Robert Lundy fought the battles in Tipperarary and Kilkenny. I hope this helps a bit with the Lundie name.
