I am trying to find the marriage of Martha, I know she married a Edward Littleton, St. James Church Bermondsey on 28-7-1851. Edward died in 1864. She went on to marry a Samuel Vear apparently in 1864 at St Olaves, Southwark. I have searched the records for this marriage without success and am wondering if you could help me on this? |

Sorry, Janet, didn't ask very clearly - I mean where did you see that? Is it on a parish record or something? |

I have looked for samuel in 1864 but could not find him. I know that edward died in 1864. Martha had another daughter with samuel also called Martha Vear. That is all I know |

I could find Martha in 1861 census being with Edward Littleton. I have not found Samuel in 1861 census only 1851 with his parents |

Your Samuel 1871.. Occupation Printer pressman. The Samuel living with his parents in 1861 is a lithographic printer. It must be the same man surely? Looking at original I am sure it says he is married - have a look and see. |

Choccy's guy is a Printer press man - she might have him rather than me but it's a big co-incidence isn't it!! Marriage entry in full: |

oddly Samuel G Vear on the 1861 census is with his grandparents and a sister Jane on the 1871 census, albeit down as a grandaughter with surname Tear (original says grandson) |
