I am John Desmond Martin known as 'Des' Martin, born 1925 Sydney New South Wales. The known Martin ancestor, Peter plus wife Bridget nee Riley came to Australia in the early 1850's from Ireland.. Peter and I guess Bridget was born in Cavan or Fermanagh (both are listed) circa 1796. His son John married the daughter of a convict John Primmer born Hampshire 1803 who was transported for theft in 1829 and who was assigned to an Inkeeper in the Hartley-Litgow area at Mt. York in NSW. All descendents of Peter and Bridget have been born in Australia so any relatives descended from Peter and Bridget would be Australian born. My wife and I reside in Queensland on the Sunshine. My son's wife is many generations Australian but my daughter's husband Alan Coppard is originally from Sussex U.K. |
