Peter McKinney born 1949, Binley, Coventry, would like to make contact with family in that area, Lost touch after father died in 1973. Father was Hugh,his brothers were Charles & Edward,and his sisters were Mary & Ellen. Currently researching Scottish Records & finding some relatives. I know that the family did move to Scotland from IRELAND, and that a number of the family moved to USA. The McKinneys there established McKinney Shoes which became K Shoes, they also established large tobacco plantations. Have moved out of that and apparently into market gardens as well as many other spheres of business. One cousin, who I have met while she was visiting Scotland works for a large bank. Unfortunately I haven't quite got the links yet but according to family photos for both sides the resemblance is there. |
