Trying to find out details of my grandmother's family. Lavinia Mercer was born in Essex (Southend) in 1895. She was the youngest in her family. She had an older brother John, and two older sisters, Daisy and Rose. Her parents were John and Lavinia. She was a post office worker and met my grandfather Frederick Brown and married him in 1917. They lived in Surrey and had five daughters, the youngest my mother Averil in 1924. Lavinia died in 1926 and contact with her family gradually faded away. We are not sure if her sisters married, but we think John may have had a son called Ronnie. |
