Mandy Report 8 Mar 2008 21:45

I am trying (without much luck) to trace my husbands family tree. All he has so far is...

Edward Meredith married to a Gladys Jones, in 1921. He thinks his Meredith line is from Rhayader/RAD. He has a distant memoy of one of his Meredith's being involved in the Church, as his father showed him the obituary for this family member.

Children of Edward and Gladys
Leonard John Jones Meredith
Gwen Meredith
Margaret Meredith

Any help would be appreciated!
thanks

My husbands name is Tracy John Meredith (I knew that already!)

His father was Leonard John Jones Meredith born 1921 registered in Rhayader.
His parents were Edward and Gladys Meredith nee Jones.

Thats all I have!

I have looked at 1921 marriages (full index) also 1st quarter of 1922....nothing!...

Gerri.

Mandy
What we are suggesting you do is....find his parents marriage reg, then order the marriage cert (£7)
This will give you the bride and grooms fathers names....

You have to do this untill you get back to finding someone living in the 1901 census....it SHOULD get easier then.

This looks like it?

If you want to buy a BMD cert, here
is the addy where you can buy it online..

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/

(tip)Never pay more than £7
(another tip) for a marriage, you only need
put one partners name when ordering.

If you are ordering online from the GRO,
make sure that when the form asks
"Is the full GRO reference known?"
that you tick the "yes" box.

Happy searching and have fun

Ha ha!

I will try that one myself.

No Olwen as yet although he only has scant info so that does not mean much. Will keep the Olwen quiet at the mo as as soon as I say it he will convince himself that he remembers that name.

thanks
