Member Since: November 2003 Posts: 2 Send Message	I am trying to find info on my grandad's family, my Gt grandfather was William Paterson Morrison (born 1884 in Oyne, Aberdeenshire), his parents were John Paterson Morrison and Helen Benzie, he was 1 of at least 9 children and he married Mary Goodall in 1908, I think they had 9 children, although the eldest son may have been illegitimate- he was known as Dode (probably George) and born sometime between 1904-1909, the next child was Helen Benzie Paterson Morrison, born in 1909, I believe Dode moved to Australia and the family never heard from him again and no-one seems to know what happened to Helen (known as Nel). If anyone has any info I would love to hear from them. Maureen

Member Since: July 2011 Posts: 2 Send Message	Hi, John paterson Morrison and Helen benzie were my gg grandparents . They lived at hillfoot in oyne, John was a well known horseman/crofter in the area. I visited the croft just a few weeks back. I have some info on the family more from the benzie side. Do you know why he dropped the Morrison name?? I will try and find out as John and Helens granddaughter is still alive and she may be able to share some light. If were on the same track get back to me and we can go over things. There daughter Helen (Nellie) was my grans mum. Not the same nell as yours I don't think.x
