I've been following your search for this family Denise, don't really want to make things more difficult but as it's such a common name it's a problem because she could have been born anywhere.

I know that she married in 1918 in Prestwich, Manchester but that doesn't mean she was born in the area all that time before.

For every Margaret there are 2 James'

Do you know where her parents were married

As you know on the census records they put the surname for the "Head" person .
In this case that was Thomas
It was written Thomas O Donnell and 'do' for those following him.
Who ever transcribed the census has put Thomas as "Thomaso" ! Conecting the 'O' to his name. On the original it is 'O' and seperate
