1851 census states john ranson father widow aged 59 that poses a question to my tree i have his death as 1869 ???

i have my 2xgreat grandfather john ranson {father of elizabeth clark nee ranson} born 14 /11/1791 ipswich
died 26/3/1869 cosford suffolk
on the 1851 census it has him 59 a widow
please advise or suggest how i can follow this up
