Find Ancestors

Hi, Im trying to find who was living with Myrtle Dorothy Read (born 1905 Yarmouth) in the 1911 census. I have used the advanced search option on the site but cannot find anyone living with her. Her fathers name was Arthur, mother possibly Ellen or Edith and I think there was a brother.

Wow, thanks everyone for your help, that was so quick. I have an awful feeling that Myrtle may not be the daughter of Arthur (got my original information from another tree, knew I should have checked myself)!

Arthur Read is a definate relative. According to an earlier census he was born in 1874/75 in Horsham, Surrey. Being such a common name it was hard to find a marriage, but am sure her name began with E. Just checked and his son was John born around 1907-1910, he died in 1942 and on the CGWC site mother listed as "E" Read.

Could somebody be as kind to take a look for me as the advanced search is not helping.

As I explained on my posting, you don't actually need the advanced search to find a household........try the method I outlined.

This is the only Arthur born Horsham - so you've got a reference to work from

Thanks Freewheel, that is the one I found. I have no idea where John was born, so its a bit of a mystery! John was definately my mums uncle, guess I'll just give up on that side of the family.

Arthur Read was the son of Charles and Caroline Read, Arthurs brother Herbert was my great grandfather

John Charles Read married Majorie Lake, who happened to be my grandmothers half sister.

Their story fascinated me because of this.

I agree the Dentist connection isnt right, but it bugs me that I cannot find anymore info.

John C Read who is on the CWGC site was not married - his wife's name would have been recorded if he had been

From Horsham parish records (I have the disc)

Arthur born Horsham was baptised on 26/08/1874, son of William a dentist and Jessie Mary, he had a brother Cuthbert who was baptised on 05/09/1873.

This sounds like the Arthur that Aveyronnaise found in a 1911 census
