Trying to find the Ancestors of one WIlliam Henry D Reed (I believe the D could stand for Donnison, Donnason, Donnerson -not sure of spelling) he was born around 1867, Census just states born in Newcastle upon Tyne. He was Married to Sarah A Reed (c1872 born Durham) and they had Six children Joseph Reed, William Reed, George Reed, Margaret Reed and my Grandma, Agnes Reed born 1914. William H D Reeds father was, I am informed, a Blacksmith from the Corbridge area of Northumberland - sorry I haven't a name - though I may be getting a name soon. I can;t find a relevant Reed from Corbridge on any Census. He had one leg apparently -would this be ticked as a disability on the census? I could find William H D Reed's family in the 1901 Census living on Grafton Street, Byker but he does not appear in any prior Census - gets very frustrating. I've managed to trace my Grandfathers family back to 1777 but cant get any furthur back than 1867 for my Grandma's side. Can anyone help? Much Appreciated Gavin |
