My Rees' came from BETTWS NEWYYD, Monmouthshire, and later, Blaenavon, Monmouthshire. Some of the family emigrated to Pennsylvania, but family stories tell of an ancestor who was transported to Australia. He MAY have been William Rees, b. 1804, Bettws Newydd. We KNOW there are relatives in Australia - one of the transportees' descendants came to Blaenavon, as a young ANZAC in WWI, looking for his Rees family, but a rude Aunt sent him packing! Others came looking for us years ago, but we missed each other - if you are an Australian reading this, and it all sounds familiar - get in touch! Sue Winch suelwinchataoldotcom |
