we are trying to find information on Maurice Smythe and Bridget Nolan. We know - Maurice was born in Ireland around 1870 Bridget was also born in Ireland about 1876. They had their first child Matthew John in 1887, his birth record shows R.Garr.R, Dublin, we belive Maurice was in the army but we don't know his regiment. In 1900 their daughter, Elizabeth Orcher, was born in Malta, Maurice was possibly with the army at this time. On the 1901 Census they were now placed at Chatham Barracks in Kent, between 1901 and 1906, they then had 2 more children, Cecilia and George. When My great grandmother, Bridget Teresa was born in 1907, Maurice was working in a steel works in Sheffield. We would like to find information of their life in Ireland before 1900 and if possible if anybody knows how to get army records via internet, or if anybody knows what R.Garr.R could be. Please get in touch Thank-you
