Trying to find Sullivan

ELLEN/NELLY SULLIVAN. She had 3 children, Henry (Harry) c1901, Nellie (1903) and my Dad Dennis 1907 born in Mile End Old Town. Father was shown as Henry Shepherd (Contractors Carman). I can find no record of a marriage. In about 1910 the children were placed in a Children's Home/School in Brentwood, Essex. Both the boys learned to play musical instruments at the school and both joined the Army as Military Bandsmen. Ellen/Nelly then married a Mr Bennett and had a child Jack (John?) In the 1930's and later she lived in Tottenham and I believe that she died there some time in the 1970's. I don't know what happened to Henry (Senior) although there is a belief that he may have drowned in the River Thames - possibly suicide. Any information regarding Ellen/Nelly and Henry would be most gratefully received. They were my grandparents and I am unable to progress on my Dad Dennis's side of the family. Many thanks. Maureen |
