hi all,i started my family tree last jan only didnt have much time 2 do much!
so iv decided to start again.
i am looking 4 my grandads mother and fathers b/d/m also their parents.
any help or tips are greatfully received.

hi my grandad was called robert alfred black born in newcastle may 1934 died in gateshead july 2001.his mother was called florence may taylor born between 1912-1914 not sure where though,his dad was called robert george black dont no any details on him though.
also florence had a younger brother called alfie or alfred taylor.

Roberts death is on Ancestry and it gives his dob as 05.05.1934. Good luck Irene

Can't find a Florence May Taylor 1912 - 1914.

There is an Ethel M Taylor 1912 Newcastle mmn Elliot.

freeBMD has only 2 Robert George Blacks born 1900 - 1920, one in West Ham the other:

Births Mar 1909 S. Shields 10a 971

this is wat happened last time,i could not find florence anywhere only ethel!
how wouild i find out 4 certain her name?
the name florence may appears on her gravestone,this is where this is from.
could ethel be short for florence in anyway?

im having a very confusing time after this regarding his mothers name i thought as did the rest of my family that her name was florence may as it is in her headstone,however the marriage certificates shows that a BLACK married a TAYLOR in 1932,si i checked out a TAYLOR marrying a black in 1932 and the name was ethel!
soooo confusing/

That I can't say, but being born on that date would mean she would be registered in the Mar Quarter of the following year.

I suppose you could inquire whether the M stands for May, but as I mentioned the birth cert is the place to start.
