Definitely one, my cousins father and just possible a sister who died in infancy.

1944, aged 81 would make him 16 years older than Ellen, possible I suppose ........

FamilyFogey Report 24 Feb 2008 19:51

Of course it is entirely possible the 1943 age at death is wrong - due to the informant giving the wrong age, or maybe even a mistake by the registrar or the entry in the index. But those are the only two.

Did John Henry and Ellen have any children?

FamilyFogey Report 24 Feb 2008 19:48

Well that was the only death in Croydon for a John H Constable or a John Constable in the war years 1939-1945

There was a Henry Constable d. Oct Q 1944 Croydon aged 81 2a 762.

Ellen died 1965 aged 86 so her dob is c1879.

Are you sure re John Henry's age at death?

They married 1902, he would be too yound at 54 ......

Henry or John Henry died early part of WWII as my relative knew him, just!

So not WWI

FamilyFogey

FamilyFogey Report 24 Feb 2008 18:42

If he did die during WWI - the one Gail found could be right - bearing in mind that the age at death would have been given by the informant and sometimes it isn't always totally right.

Just realised I made a mistake with Ellen's death - it should be Apr Q not Jan!

Derek - which wartime period did he die in? Might narrow things down a bit!

Hi Alexandra, me thinks he wasn't killed in action, I don't think he was in the armed forces as he was too old.

FamilyFogey Report 24 Feb 2008 18:13

As I cannot find a Henry John Constable death on the commonwealth war graves site or a likely John Constable either.

I'm really clutching at straws ....

Ellen CONSTABLE (nee Parker) died circa 1966 in Croydon. I wish to find out her age at death.

Henry Constable or John Henry CONSTABLE (Husband of the above) died during the war (In the UK) Again I would like to find age at death.

Can anyone help with the above?
