For those doing a look up for Derek please be aware I have searched the death indexes during the wartime period 1939-1945 and given details for a death of a John H Constable in 1943 aged 54 and for a Henry Constable in 1944 aged 81 both in Croydon.

I have also advised that the John H aged 54 - that his age may have been given wrongly by the informant of the death.

Derek - it might be helpful for you to order Ellen's death cert from 1965 and work backwards from there?

Derek Report 25 Feb 2008 08:31

A rough day yesterday, tearing hair out trying to get a starter for ten on a branch of my tree.

I have a Henry or John Henry CONSTABLE probably of Croydon, married 1902 to Ellen Parker. Asuuming he was 22ish when married he would be born circa 1880.

Please could someonetake a look to see if they can locate him and his family whoever they may be on the 1901 census.

I am reliably informed he died early WWII. I am looking for his date of death also.

All help appreciated.

Best Wishes,
Derek
