can any1 find me the birth of an elizabeth ann swan born 1884-1886 in silloth cumbria please?
i am going out of my my mind,cannot find it here,ancestry or free bdm,yet she is showing on the 1891 census!
any info on her is appreciated greatly.

The records may not be complete.
Could be they had more children.
A thing I would do is go to "search trees" at top of page and try and find other members researching these names.

This is Fredericks marriage

so he either married Annie Davidson or Christina Heslop Henderson.

I then looked for birth registrations after that date in Tynemouth and came up with the one I posted in 1913 Andrew Swan with mothers maiden name Henderson, which means he probably married Christina Heslop Henderson.

Jim also found some more births which are probably your couples children also.

What Christine is showing you is a birth for a Swan with mothers maiden name Henderson. Possibly a son of your man

thanx 4 ur help but he wasnt called andrew he was called frederick warren swan.

Hi Emma,

As you will have seen the 2 possible surnames were Henderson and Davidson.

After 1911 MMN were shown on birth registrations so if you search for births after 1911 in the name Swan, this comes up

So it looks as if he married the Henderson, but of course the only way to be certain would be to buy the marriage cert.

On the earlier entries there can be up to eight names on a page. Any page with an odd number either has one missing or one who shouldn't be there or two entries for the same person but with slight variations to the names (because two different people have trascribed and differ on what they see on the orignal)

Emma - is it that there is a name missing when you click on the page number on freebmd?

e.g. marriage 1865 for Joseph Bloggs Islington 1c 245 and you click on the 245 number and it just gives you two mens names and one woman's name or just his name? Normally clicking on that page number should bring up each person married on that page of the register in that area (not necessarily on the same day in rural parishes) but normally you get two mens names and two women's names - and you can check on the following census to see which wife it was between 1841 and 1901.
