can someone help untangle me please,as not sure whom in looking for now,have been double checking my tree,and noticed my grt grandmother was married before but am now not sure im looking for,can you help,i thought i had her marridge cert to my grt grandfather, as i have the marridge 13 feb 1852,date but cant seem to place it ,on my granfathers birth cert 1875 it says mother emma marie hicklin late chapman formerly phillips.am i looking for previous husband chapman,when she was a phillips or phillips when she was a chapman,i did find a marridge for a william chapman to an emma but it was the year after she married my hicklin, can anyone untangle me please,thanks kim |

havent found her on 1851census thats where i was looking then got confused as to what her surname would be,i have no birth area for her,john my grandfather was from rotherby leicester, they were married in burton on trent staffordshire, moved to tottenham london but i have her death as burton thanks for looking shirley |

yep, thats the one i found but that works out a year after the date i have for the marridge to my granfather. my grandparents names were emma chapman b 1830, john hicklin b 1840. married 1852 burton on trent,he died 1892, she died 1903,thanks k |

i have the first child born 1860 thats 8 years after the marridge, yeh i know seems along time,now got even more doubts on this line |

ok. even more confused now, am going to wipe the lot and start again from facts i do have infront of me as i have just found another surname for her, that of durose,either she enjoyed a wedding or im well up the messed up here |

well if she was 43 in 1881 makes her born c 1838 so in 1852 she would only be 14. I know they could marry at 14 but still a second marriage at 14 doesnt seem likely |

the harriet that was found here before, i ahve now found as a stepdaughter,stated on his death cert,by time of his death was harriet gambler,1892 |

So Harriet b Bromley in Bow in 1871 could have been a child of the first marraige to Mr Chapman as detailed below and the marriage a couple of years before in Stepney could have been their marraige, but what happened to the couple in 1861? |
