Julie, on marriage certf states John Carter Baker - occupation : Farmer (though name was originally entered as James Carter Baker and bears a registration notation at the side the change to John) Edith's death certificate shows just John of Independant means. Edith's age in 1905 - 28 which makes dob c1877 age at death in 1948 - 73yrs which makes dob c 1875. Could not find a definate family on 1881 census either . It is a shame death certificate did not list her actual birthday, just noticed another difference death cert says she was 29 when married which would change date to 1876.( all too confusing ) date of birth between 1875 - 1877.

Hubby already know how addictive,I'm always in trouble for being on the computer too long. Keeps the brain active solving these mysteries.

You said that you had Walter & Edith's marriage certificate so hopefully you have their fathers names to check against Ediths birth...

Might be best to find her family on the 1881 census first to check her age and where she was born.

Could not find a 'definate' family.

Just checking.. the death registration I added on the 18th said that Ediths parents were John & Sarah Ann.
Does her marriage certificate also list her fathers name as 'JOHN' ?
Does it say whether he is deceased or still alive, and what was his occupation?

Thanks Julie was the right Tom, have copies of Obit which were sent by church. Seems like the right info on Ellen Lucy as Ireland family has a tree listing details I had on her, though have not sighted proof yet. Sent for Edith Lucy's death certificate and states her place of birth as London c 1875 no actual birthday and mother just as Sarah Ann, Am still looking for birth reg. The obits gave my husband a lot of info he did not know about his uncle so he is now pleased and actually interested in what I can find on his family. So once again Thanks for your help.

Looks like the right Tom, Strangley we were living in Sydney at time, but Mother in law died early that month, must be why we missed it, Hubby usually checks death & funeral notices in paper. As Thomas was a Cof E Minister, have you tried asking the Church if they are willing to part with any info, or act as go-between for you and any of Thomas' children.

If we could find their deaths the certificate would list all the children, and then you would at least have the name sof the people you are looking for.

Julie, Walter Frederick Whiting was born in c1883 those were his children. Ellen was born c 1805 and Henry c1907, Thomas 1908, Walter 1910, John 1912, Lilian c1914, Edith, c1917, Lucy c1920. Think you confused Walter Robert with his father. The only names I was unsure of were Ellen & Henry, though my sister in law had said there was a Harry or Henry, and a Ellen or Helen, hubby thought Ellen was a family friend just called aunty, and he did not know of Henry/Harry. Have found their Birth reg in England. Any way you have helped by finding their full names, gives me more to go on. Have found the English side, now have to find where they got to in Aus, especially Henry & Ellen and Thomas who was a Cof E Minister, and their children. I know the other siblings have passed, their children we know, but not those of Henry & Ellen, or where Thomas's children are.
