Hey Selena, thank you very much. The birth and death cert is Harriet. There was only one child that died not twins so that is definately their records! Yeah definately the 1862 certificate is my great great great grandfather! Hmmm, the information on Alfred possibly is correct - I can't confirm because my oldest living relative can't really confirm and I'm not too sure! Thank you so much!!!!! xx

Also I know this is a thread about my great great great grandfather but could anyone do a search for me please? I know these details are correct because I have confirmed them by the 1901 census and by asking my relatives. I have here Alfred Tamplin born 1890 Bermondsey, London to Harriet Lucken and Frederick Tamplin but in the 1901 census they have made a mistake and mispelt the name so if you do a search for the 1901 census then search for 'Framplie'

Also, the reason why this one might be difficult as their was a bit of a mystery in my family as Alfred once went to Kent when he was older and never returned so I think he may have died in Kent but I don't know that much information because no one spoke about him after he went missing.

Many thanks!

I have found her cert somewhere so it is definately out there. She married Joseph Giordani and I am unsure of dates but I think it is probably around 1940 possibly! Violet would be Fredericks granddaughter. Thanks for the help! xx

Lisa,

How is Violet related to Harriet/Frederick? I don't see a birth for a Violet H Tamplin(g).

Yes, the reason why I posted this was because I have found details of Harriet Luckin thanks to members on here but I haven't yet found his parents. This hasn't been posted again of course the same name is lurking around because that was her husband! I am descended from Violet Helen Tampling who is my great grandmother and her daughter is my grandmother who is still living and I have confirmed this with her. The reason why Harriets name was up in the air was because she was born around 1865 so its quite hard for people to remember without having all of the birth/marriage/death certs. Thank you. x

Lisa,

You need to buy certs to move on. As I said on your other thread, Harriet was married before and the first few children could be from that marriage because there's no sign of them under Tamplin(g) and no marriage for Frederick to Harriet. Which child are you descended from? You want to make sure you get the correct father and you also want to confirm Harriet's maiden name was Luckings/Luckin/Luckens.

A bit worried that members are going to go over the same details that are already on your other thread.

For example a lot of work was done on Harriet Suckins shown on 1901 census - she could be Luckins.

Hey there,

I'm trying to get as far back in my family tree as possible and don't really know where to go from here but can anyone help me find the names of Frederick Tamplings parents. His name might also be 'Tamplin' due to the name Tampling & Tamplin merging together in around 1900! Just to add more confusion!

Here is the 1901 census. Take no notice of the name Framplie. I believe it is a misprint because the record includes his wifes surname confirmed by my nan to be correct and also his children but also it had the shop he once owned in Bermondsey, London and they named it 'Tamplin' in 30 Weston Street or road I've forgotten but its on the record.
