I am looking for SELINA WILLIAMS, born 1856 in Carmarthen [I think in Llanelly]

Father: DAVID WILLIAMS , a copper refinerman [could also be a tin worker]

Any help gratefully appreciated

cannot find a match with these details in 1861/1871 do you have her on a census after she married? what was her married name

I have got her on the 1881 with her family. She married a DAVID JONES.

I've got the marriage cert. [they married in september 1871 in Neath, county of Glamorgan and Brecon]

Her father, DAVID WILLIAMS , was then deceased. Maybe he died before the 1861 and 1871 census?

The witnesses on the cert. were: GEORGE WILLIAMS and MARGARET WILLIAMS, possibly siblings?

??? Could she be with a brother?

From the above it could well be that Elizabeth is Selina's sister & you have a Williams- Williams marriage

Selina's father was given on the cert as a copper refinerman.

My head is spinning now with all these Williams'.

I've just had a brainwave, I can get her mother's name from her birth cert. The only problem is I'm not sure of her proper birth date.
According to the 1881 census she was born c1851.
On the marriage cert. it says she was aged 21 in 1871, giving her birth year as 1850.
However, as Portland Rose points out, the only birth in Carmarthen round that time is in 1856, making her 15 at the time of her marriage.

Is this likely?
