Smurf,
I'm hoping to find out who her husband was before she was widowed.
I have a Joseph White b.1874 on his marriage cert and am looking for possible parents. I know his father was Joseph and deceased at the time of Joseph Jnrs marriage, but am trying to find Joseph snr prior to this and was hoping that Frances was his widow!

Smurf,
I've just re-read my last reply and realised how garbled it was - sorry, let me explain.

I have a Joseph White born in 1874 (according to his marriage cert). His father on his marriage cert is also a Joseph White (deceased). I am trying to find the family of Joseph Jnr before he married.
I was really wondering if Frances could have been Joseph Snr's wife.
Hope this makes more sense.

Occupation of father from the marriage cert would be useful

Luisha

Luisha Report 10 May 2008 12:01

unfortunately there is no occupation - only that he was deceased.

I have looked on BMD but no luck. I'm not even sure if Joseph Snr was born in London. I know I'm looking for the proverbial needle, but am living in Middle East and cannot gain access to parish records etc.

Any assistance gratefully received!

I did look for marriages - no luck though (unless I missed something, which is quite possible!).

Luisha

Luisha Report 10 May 2008 12:13

am popping out for 20 mins - have not left for good.

I could also be barking completely up the wrong tree of course.

Luisha Report 10 May 2008 12:50

Unfortunately, Frances was married to a White, therefore this can't be the marriage because Joseph White is the husband I am looking for.

Thanks anyway Smurf.
