Well all you brilliant people out there... here is another mystery on the Lynda tree. Can any of you help? I will explain...Patrick McGowan c1836 and Sarah Conway c1836 got married in Edinburgh in 1859. After this there is no trace of them under this name. They turn up in the census reports after this as McGoochan, McGoohan, McGuken and various othr derivations of this name. We know that they came from Ireland, but do not know where about. Patricks parents were John c1800 Labourer, and Bridget Dorigan/Dourigan c1800. Sarahs Parents were Michael Conway c1800, Crofter and Sarah Brachen/Machen. (Writing was not good on Marriage cert). Patrick and Sarahs children were, Felix 1880, Francis 1879, James 1868, Mary 1860, Catherine 1863, John 1865,Thomas 1871, Michael 1873, Patrick 1869. |
