After viewing the actual census records, Charles Ludlam is the son of Charles and Susannah, brother to Elizabeth.

Looked at the 1861 census record and Mary was also a daughter to Charles and Susannah, sister to Elizabeth. Sarah and daughter Elizabeth Goddard were nieces as well.
