You first need to get Samuel's birth cert. This would appear to be the registration details (from the freebmd website : www.freebmd.org.uk/. You can order the certificate on line from the GRO (www.gro.gov.uk/). The certificate will give you the date of birth and the mother's maiden name and father's occupation.

If you go the the freebmd website, you should be able to find a marriage and the cert for this will give you both partners' fathers' names. You can then search back through the censuses and bmds to trace the family back.

You should start by gettibng Samuel's birth certificate to get the full name of his mother.

I am trying to find any information regarding my grandfather's father, where he was born etc, he married a woman called Parkes first name i think was Margaret they had a son called Samuel born 1920 and died in 1948. I have come to a brick wall on this as there is no one alive that i know of that knows any information regarding this matter. If you have any further information regarding this please get in touch as it would mean such a lot to get to know this information.
