John Shearer born 1841c & Maggie McGeorge born 1839c

His Dad and Mother was

John Shearer born 1804c & Elizabeth Thomson born 1808c

thats all imformation i have found any more imformation appreciated :)

David...Do you know if there was any connection at all with the Highlands and Islands...? Have had a quick scan on the 1881 Census and the Shearer name is prolific up in Perth/Argyle and Mora.....

Sorry i dont have any imfo on that it would be great too know though

maybe too much research though i beleive a lot of Shearer came from Orknay Islands but i have not resources to follow that through

my father worked as a Carter and his father and his Grand father i see connections to marriages from Female side ie there fathers worked as Saddlers or Carters etc my father worked in Aberdeen for a Company Called Wordies for Railroad up until 1942 but lived in Glasgow , Births of his Sibblings around Govan and St Rollex which built Trains they employed Carters etc he kept that a secret lol got that imfo from Mother whos in her late 80s also on his death certificate and Army Records for both him and his Dad and his Brother Ralph wwwI in Vetanery corp & wwwII Records for my dad imform me they where Carters by Trade or Engine Keepers ,Journymen , Gas fitters / Bell Hangers
