There is, I fear, no way of knowing that the birth date you have been given is correct, unless you have the cert.

The only person who would know the date would be her mother......even the father would probably be a bit 'iffy' on the subject!

Robert,

Why not leave your thread on as all previous efforts by members to help then gets lost and we all go over and over the same ground.

The only way is through certs - especially with such a common name. Its well worth it and you will know you are following the correct line. Once you get the cert, come back with ALL the info it gives, including witnesses and addresses and then we can look at the 1901.

Hi Heather and Jeanette,

Thanks for the advice. Yes I will do that and as you say I should be able to find a lot more about the family and when that is done hopefully somebody on GR may have links to the family so I can find out more about them.

Regards,

Robert

Theres an awful lot of Ada Whites born around that date in Hampshire. I think the only way is to buy the marriage cert and cut it down by having the fathers name and occupation and the residence.

Im not sure that birth date is correct. Where did you get confirmation? OR the name is not as registered. Thats why no one can find her for you. The only way you will find the family is to spend £7 on a certificate.

Heres the marriage cert - if you want to find her you will need to buy this for £7 using the following ref on GRO online

Marriages Dec 1913

White Ada A Gray S.Stoneham 2c 177

Hi Paula,

Yes I have posted it before but no luck in finding the family. Ada’s DOB, I am assured is correct and she did have the four sisters I listed. Thanks for picking it up again, I hope you can help.

If you get a copy of the marriage certificate, this would give her father's name which would enable you to start tracing back.

Please, can anyone help? I am researching my mother in laws family tree. Her mother was called Ada Alice White b1892 with sisters Fanny, Nell, Elizabeth and Anne. Ada married Arthur Gray 29th Nov 1913.

I would like to know where the family came from and Ada’s parents names and DOB’s of her sisters. They are believed to all come from SOUTHAMPTON but that is the only info I have.
