Morning Ruth

I've been having another look and found this marriage

Lancashire Marriage indexes for the years: 1911
Surname Forename(s) Surname Forename(s) Church / Register Office Registers At Reference
LEECH George WILLIAMSON Annie Salford Register Office or Registrar Attended Salford SAL/113/36

Corresponding GRO entry:

Marriages Sep 1911 (>99%)
>>> Leech George Salford 8d 276
Pennington Dinah Salford 8d 276
Pennington James Salford 8d 276
>>> Williamson Annie Salford 8d 276

I wonder if they just didn't get married until much later. Perhaps Annie was not free to marry and so they waited till she was. I was going to suggest you bought a birth cert for either John or James which would give you the mothers maiden name but I can't find them on either Freebmd or Lancsbmd so I don't know.

Looks like we may need a big wrecking ball for this one :-)

Regards
