I am still trying to find the family of Florence Simmonite bn 1863 Florence was the daughter of Henry and Sarah Simmonite. Sheffield. I believe she went to America but have no further info.

Do you mean her birth family? Or her husband (if any) and offspring?

The only info I have is that Florence was born to Henry Simmonite and Sarah Hayward in 1863.in Sheffield. She is believed to have gone to America. but do not know anything further regarding husband or family.Her niece was my grandmother, and I think I met Florence in 1938 or 9 when she visited England.

I also didn't know about John Simmonite . No reference to him on 1871 Census. Would have been born @ 1868 any suggestions.? Could it be another family ?

I found other marriages in bmd but cannot see the info. ( computer trouble) I think. have not found the family in the 1881 Census as Henry Simmonite was by now in Prison for performing abortions. and the family was altered. Clara Elen was stiil clara in the 1881 Census but I have mislaid my copy Later (1891) known as Eliza and has moved to the other end of Sheffield.( info in Whiston WEb)
