Thank you so much it narrows down a few things. Ann Bell was obviously widdowed. But also that William Bell must have died between 1885/1886 9 months before his daughter was born and 1891 when she re-married. So i assume closer to 1885.

Thank you though!

Hi,

I'm looking for a William Bell B.1841 supposedly Born in Ely according to the 1881 census. He lived in Islington in 1881 with Wife Ann (Arnum I think but not confirmed). Son William, John and Henry Thomas Bell. By 1901, they no longer live with him. Ann had remarried, so therefore probably a widow. She marries a man called Stevens.

In 1881 he was 40 and it states that he is from Ely. I'm not sure if Ely is a red herring. Also difficult to track as born in 1841 so i'm not sure if he was alive when the 1841 census was done.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Tracy
