Hi Michael

I found this marriage in the Quebec Vital and Church Records (Drouin Collection), 1621-1967 about Patrick McCormick. The marriage took place at Christ Church Cathedral (Anglican) Montreal September 21, 1867.

Patrick McCormick sergeant of the Twenty third Regiment at present stationed at Quebec and Georgena Adkins of the city of Montreal Spinster were married by authority of Licence this Twenty first day of September One Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixty seven
by me
Douglas Bothwick (???)
Officiating Minister

The marriage was ) Patrick McCormick
solemized between us) Georgina Adkins

In the presence of
Isabella Phillips
Thomas Adkins
James B. Hasselwood
???? ???????( unreadable)
John Cunningham

Please note: I am not quite sure of the spelling of the ministers name but that is as close as I can make it out. Aso, Georgena is spelled both ways as is Adkins and Atkins

Hope this is what you are looking for
Lillian

Lillian,
I just do not know how to thank you. My immediate response is this is the connection I have been looking for for years.
Do you know how I can obtain a certificate of this marriage?
I will not say anymore at the moment because I am just floating on air!!

Hello again Lillian,
I had a search done for me at Kew and part of the findings was...Georgina was added to the list of wives on the Army muster list on....21st JULY 1867 which more often than not the date of marriage.
I had Georgina as being born in London, 1848 how she is in Quebec I must find out. Patrick was a soldier for 24 years before he died while on sick leave from India.Patrick enlisted 1860 and was paid £1.10shilligs bounty for signing on at OMAGH.
I will definately be connecting Dr Richard Virr and once again I can't tell you how thankful I am to you.
Mike
