I'm trying to find where Campbell Street, Newcastle, was. My ggg-grandmother died there in 1868. It doesn't seem to exist today, but there are several references to it on the internet. |

I don't know if this will help but I see on a 1901 census Campbell St was down as being in Westgate(an area in Newcastle). I see on a moden map there is a Campbell Place in Westgate |

That sounds promising, Lindsay. Looks like there has been substantial clearance in that area, and streets would have disappeared. |

Hi, Campbell st.and Cromwell st. were off Westgate rd.between Gloucester rd and Elswick row in the sixties but the area was Redeveloped sometime after.Google Street map for modern layout . |
