margaret many many thanks i have found it on ancesrty and the place that they have them living is the place i have for my grandfather 2 . I really do appriciate your your help. I have been at a stand still with it but now i have the correct mother and father i can move forward or back as the case may be . Once again thank you

I went to the home page on Ancestry and clicked on "Family Trees" rather than "Historical Records", typed in Burton Lamb.
The one I looked at was at the bottom of the first page "Bucknell & Braddock"

margaret i have found a tree on ancesrty by searching through Thomas name is that how you found it ? or is there possibly some more

i have my tree on ancestry 2 so will have to look through it . cant believe i may be getting somewhere i have been searching over this 4 months now

Karen, there's a tree on Ancestry that says that Jane Rosamond's father was Harry Hornsey but there's no documentation.

Oops, yes there is documentation, it's from the marriage certificate of Thomas Braddock and Jane Rosamond Lamb in 1902,

So her name must have been Lamb legally.

I was just looking through and thought that 2 margaret and wondered if it was the same burton. There are not many that match with the same name any birth place

I'm thinking that the Burton Lamb who was married to Hannah on the 81 census is the same one that was "married" to Janie in 1891. In 1891 his wife Hannah is listed as a widow but there's no death of Burton that matches.

Thanks i thought it was annie he was married to not Janie. This looks like the one i found in 1901 census then could be the same one as the mother has now re married and showing as Jane rosemond Braddock

it is a different name. I have the address of where my grandfather was born and the names of the people that lived at the address but cant seem to get any further back than that

Hi can anyone help . I have found my great grandfather Burton Lamb in the 1901 census. Born in Rotherham 1888/89 . I have mother showing as Jane Rosemond Braddock and married to Thomas Braddock. I am trying to find Burtons birth register and his birth fathers name. Only other Burton i am hitting on for this yr of birth was in Kimberworth Rotherham but mother showing as Annie Lamb and father as Burton Lamb.
Any help would be much appriciated.
