If this is your James Alfred Richie I have found then if you buy some credits for Scotlands people you can download the image and it would give you where he was born and both his mother and fathers name. |

Barbara can find Alfred in 1881. I know his father was a widow by 1881 and wasn't living with his father who was in lodgings in 1881 in Glasgow {port}. . |

Alfred James Ritchie born 1870-1872 Glasgow detail from 1881 census and marriage. father James Ritchie born Edinburgh, slater by trade in 1881 census and on Alfred's marriage certificate to Jessie Emma chambers 1892. If i order possible there maybe more than one with these details James very very common name in Scotland and not even sure of James job at time of Alfred's birth. Any help please should i order birth certificate or will i end up with two many. karon |
