Please can anyone help me find George earlier -I think this George in 1881 may be the son of William and Sarah Sutton.
(If so he had brothers called Charles,William Edmund and sisters Louisa and Caroline-all born Worcestershire).

I cannot understand why he is in Manchester though -as a Naturalist!!! This seems a strange one -especially in a big city-Wouldn't he need a lot of money to do something like that? If anyone can help I'd be grateful-I wondered if Arabella was wealthy-But I haven't managed to find their marriage yet-Hoping someone can help me work him back and make sense of It all.

Where did 1861 go-I think that could have been relevant! Maybe Betsy was a 1st wife and Lewis was hers and Arabella was a second wife. Georeg came from the right pace didn't he?

His wife is Isabella in 1891. Wonder if it's just a mistake?

Thanks=-I saw this one and wondred as wel-She would have been very young when first child born as well-so maybe they waited? I suppose quite a lot of them did. I shall have to keep searching for mariages and maybe order a couple of certs with the checking ref's to be sure Many Thanks again

I Think this is Louisa's death-If so he didn't waste much time geting with Arabella-Don't know where George and Richard the children are though!

I think Arabella and Isabella are one and the same, census taker just heard it wrong.
I think one of the criteria for a census taker was that they be half deaf, half blind and not very intelligent. And, of course, they were all men. Now if they'd had women doing the job we wouldn't be having all these problems. Right, ladies?

1871 census has a George Sutton age 15, born Birmingham. He's an apprentice taxidermist in Doncaster, Yorkshire.
