thanks for your replies, I'm looking for a Patrick Higgins born around 1828c, was married to a Mary Manon? (it's difficult to read the name on one of their childrens birth certs), can't find any marrage to that name, I have found them in the 1861 census living at 6 Chapel Fold, Halifax. Patrick is shown as being born in Ireland, Mary is shown as being born in Halifax yorkshire around 1830c , although in the 1901 census she is shown as born in Ireland, they have 5 children in 1861 all being shown as born in Halifax. the oldest is also a Mary aged 8 (certificate on order) so they must have moved here some time up to 1852. I have found a Mary and Patrick Higgins in the 1851 census, but not sure if it's them as Mary's age does not match up.
I was hoping that people moving here would be on some sort of list! of course that would be far to easy!!!

Is there a list or website that shows people/families moving to the UK from Ireland, I’m looking for someone who moved here around or before 1850. Find my past does a list of people leaving the UK but not arriving!
