Thank you for all the replies. I have now found out about Stanley Wilfred Sheppard's marriage and death. He does not appear to have had any children.

S.W's address should be shown.
An old electoral list for his area should show you his full name.
The lists will be at a main library or archive local to his address.
Some librarians are willing to check a known address, ( maybe by e mail? ) if date and name are known.

An S W Sheppard appears as the informant on the death certificate of his father Edward Thomas Sheppard. The latter died at 884, Romford Road, Manor Park on 13 Jan 1933.

Does the name S W Sheppard connect with anybody out there ?

He might be : Stanley Wilfred Sheppard, Edmonton 3a, 386. OND 1901, - but that is pure speculation based on date and the area in which Edward Thomas Sheppard was living in 1901.
