Hi i wrote of to a register office that gave me some info on my mums biological mother...they told me her new married name (degnan) as i knew her as hassle...and her year anc place of death...being north yorkshire and in sept 1999. I did a search and found her death records that told me she had been born in 1928 on march 17th. However when i try to search for the birth records of a Audrey Hassell born in 1928 it brings nothing back to me......could this be because she was already married so Hassell was not her maiden name,....and if so how would i find out her maiden name...many thanks in advance.

How do you know for sure that is the correct death

Her name is Audrey Maud Hassell and the register office gave me her date of death, but they wouldnt give me any more info over the fone without me applying for the death cet due to the fact me knowing her last (when mum was adopted) as Hassell but she then married they told me and died as Audrey Maud Degnan.
My name is Kelly ann Wood ( adopted as) but i was registered as Kelly ann Hassell

Thanks ever so much Julie...i did a search on my mums birth record and found her maiden name to be Caseley like you...So then the other info is Audreys mothers maiden name...rogers? So my mums nan? and her maiden name was Rogers.

If i want to find my mums sisters as she knows that when she was adopted out she had 2 elder sisters that were teenagers...so in 1960 she had 2 teenager sisters that were audrey maud hassells daughters...and would both be hassells....how would i find out about them

Did you get he pm I sent you ? Julies infor is right , need to find a marriage to Audrey M Caseley toa Hassell.
Prior to 1960 so if her sisters where teenagers , then your probably looking for a marriage in the 1940's, so she thinks her sisters where not adopted ?

no her sisters werent adopted...appt what happend was her mum had 2 teenage girls, fell preg with my mum and couldnt support her and the 2 elder ones appt the 2 teenagers she could look after but couldnt supply for a new baby so she gave my mum up (also she was a result of a fling)
so the 2 sisters were teenagers when mum was born in 1960.

No sadly ive had no luck finding my mums sisters :-( We are wondering if maybe there were no sisters as she only has this information through what she has been told....

This is interestingas I am just starting to look at my mothers side of the family and there is Degnan and Rogers - must be a connection?
