Find Ancestors

Please can anyone help with the parents and birthplace of Thomas Pyne c1773 to enable me to take the Pyne tree further back.
He married Sarah Pettiner c1777 at Farnsfield, Nottingham on 6.1.1795.
One of their children was Thomas Pyne c1797 born Basford (Radford) Nottingham and baptised 4.7.1797 St Mary, Nottingham.

Thanks for that information. It would seem the parents and birthplace of Thomas Pyne c1773 are quite elusive.

I have found a Thomas Pyne baptism record on FindMyPast.

Dorchester Holy Trinity, Dorset. Son of Thomas and Ann. Baptism 10.3.1771

IGI shows a marriage etween Thomas Pine and Ann Lister at St Peter, Dorchester on 1.6.1766

Also Anne Lister Christening 6.1.1745 at Langton Herring, Dorset. Father Robert . Mother Dorothy

Does anyone know if I am on the right track and also the birthplace of Thomas Pine c1745.

The IGI has births for Charlotte, Thomas, Ann and James in Nottinghamshire, but not a Caroline.


In the 1841, that Thomas is with the same family, and shown as not born in county.

So if that is your Thomas in 1841 and 1851, the Dorchester birth record you have looks like the right one.

The Pyne family are my late husbands relatives so maybe we are related somehow through marriage!

I am still unable to find the birthplace and parents of Thomas Pyne c1745. He married Ann Lister as mentioned earlier in this post at St Peter, Dorchester on l.6.1766. Any help would be very much appreciated
